Description
After hundreds of years with plantations and family wine making, the inhabitants of Nulles, during the second decade of the s. XX, decided to unite their resources and knowledge to create the union of San Isidro and to raise the cellar of the town, the Cathedral of the Wine of Nulles. This winery, designed by Cèsar Martinell and built with the workforce of the same partners, becomes the result and maximum expression of the effort of a people to carry out a dream, after the great desolation that caused the plague of phylloxera
It is a beautiful two-story building where Martinell exhibits part of its architectural language and its fundamental premises when it comes to projecting works of this type: functionality, taste for rural construction tradition and the use of solutions Structures of great projection. Thus, the use of autochthonous materials (such as lime and clay) help to integrate the work in the landscape, and the presence of parabolic arches provide a great luminosity and spatial amplitude inside.
Since the beginning of the winery, the local white varieties of the area, Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Moscatell, and, more recently, other varieties such as Parellada and Chardonnay are white. Tempranillo and Merlot in black. The references that derive them are distributed and commercialized, since 1987, under the brand name Adernats, which has great recognition and prestige.
