Description
Celler that becomes a magnificent example of modernist architecture, located in the middle of the Cistercian Route, near the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus.
With a large main façade and composed of two parallel naves, it was designed by the architect of the Diputació de Barcelona, Joan Rubió i Bellver, who gave Cèsar Martinell its execution.
For its construction, Martinell had to take advantage of and integrate in the worktops a wooden doorway from a factory that the Union had bought.
The location of its main entrance, located on a side façade, gives it a unique and differentiating feature, since it is the only modernist winery with this characteristic. Also highlight of this facade the arc of arcaded and bow arcuate bundles of sardines and five tall and narrow windows that make up the entrance to the building, the ornamentation of its cornice and the rhomboidal openings that we find in the basement.
