The 113th edition of the Tour de France will place the Costa Daurada at the centre of all eyes. After the inaugural start in Montjuïc on 4 July 2026, the second stage will start in Tarragona and cover 178 kilometres, 36 of which will run along the Tarragona coastline. The route will combine elite sport and heritage, passing through such emblematic spaces as the Rambla Nova and the Balcó del Mediterrani, very close to Roman monuments declared World Heritage Sites. From there, the cyclists will advance through Altafulla, the Riera de Gaià, the Pobla de Montornès and Torredembarra, with its lighthouse and the Muntanyans beach, to continue towards Creixell and reach Roda de Berà with its emblematic Roman Arch. The route will continue through Vendrell, where the Pau Casals Museum is located, and through Calafell. Finally, the cyclists will say goodbye to the Costa Daurada in Cunit before embarking on the return journey to Barcelona.
