THE WALLS OF MONTBLANC

A main dish to start with. Pedro III the Ceremonious ordered to build an imposing military defense for the city of Montblanc

Fortunately, much of the wall has been preserved to this day and is one of the most spectacular examples of its kind in Catalonia. 1.4 kilometers of perimeter with an average height of 6 meters that you can visit at your own pace or with guide. It is worth choosing to visit it accompanied, since this way you will be able to discover how the fortress and the history of the town were constructed, besides entering two towers of defense. Surely the Children will also enjoy the stories of the battles seen by these impregnable walls! You can also combine the visit to the wall of Montblanc with a tasting of regional wines. You can book this gastronomic activity at the Tourist Office.

If you want to get lost in the old quarter of Montblanc after seeing it from the walls, we recommend the app "Montblanc, chronicles of a medieval village" that you can download for iPhone or Android. It is much more than a guide, it is an experience to enter Montblanc, get oriented with the GPS and discover the corners of the city reading, listening to audios or watching videos that transport you to the past and meet the most legendary characters of this medieval town. At the end you can test your knowledge in a fun quiz of questions and answers. Come on and play!

THE TRANQUILITY OF SOLIVELLA

From Montblanc to Solivella you have just 10 minutes by car on the C-14. It is one of those small towns of the interior where the beauty goes of the hand with tranquility, where life is linked with the leisurely pace. If making tourism is knowing the essence of a corner of the world, Solivella can be exactly a good picture of the Conca de Barberà and the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast) further away from the sea.

Quietly stroll through its streets until you reach the castle of Llorac, one of the highest points of the village. On weekends the visit is free and at the tourist office they organize guided tours with prior notice. Another curiosity of the municipality is the Racó del Càntir that collects more than 1.200 copies of different materials, sizes and decorations. A crazy collection of the particular universe of the pitcher, which also has its point of reference on the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast). If you do not know, you have to learn to drink with a jet!

Fabricar un objeto de vidrio en Vimbodí

The last stop of this TripIdea is in the town of Vimbodí. Even if it sounds weird, do not forget to bring an empty glass bottle - of soda or juice - when you approach this locality of the Conca de Barberà. Why do you have to take a glass bottle? Very easy, to join you’re your family a workshop of the Vidre Museum (Glass Muxseum), the main local attraction!

In the workshop of "Ampolla Fusing" you will discover the magical process of the action of fire on the glass and the complete transformation from an object of daily use. With the children, you will model the bottle to your liking and then you can decorate it with all the creativity you have. With the help of Noemí Blanco, a local specialist in glass techniques, glass fusion and glass jewelry, you will see that it is really easy.
