The exit from the millennium old town of  Roda de Berà is done from the southern end of the promenade, where you can even park your car. The first part of the walk is parallel to Platja Llarga (Long Beach) until the hermitage of the Virgen de Berà. La Plaza de la Ermita Square is a good place for a first stop or for children to ride bicycles for a while.

The tour by the rocky and rich in vegetation coast begins. It has been recently enabled to make it easy to walk. You will pass the Berà Castle – which cannot be visited - transformed during the years 50 in a residence of employees of Bank of Spain. Until recently, this beautiful complex included in its domains a part of the current route of the road. It is very gratifying to walk here with friends or the family while you stop to observe the views from the viewpoints and you try to imagine who and how somebody lives in the majestic houses that are guessed behind the vegetation. You will walk next to the beach of Capellans: temperature is nice, you will feel like soaking.

DALÍ AND LUIS DEL OLMO, "PROTAGONISTAS" OF ROC DE SANT GAIETÀ

Just two kilometers after the start of the tour on the `camino de ronda´, you arrive at Roc de Sant Gaietà. It is an residential area built in the early 70's that recreates the architecture of different places and times of the Iberian peninsula. Special mention should be made of its gardens overlooking the marina and also the museum offer you can find.

The civic center La Roca Foradada welcomes nothing less than a permanent exhibition of sculptures by Salvador Dalí, ceded by Georges Lavaill, master founder who worked for the artist of the Ampurdàn region and resident in Roda de Berà. The museum also houses the Museu de l'Escriptor (Museum of the Writer), with elements related to this office, and the Museum of Radio Protagonistas Luis del Olmo, with more than 240 radio sets of different styles and times donated by the renowned journalist.

FAMILY WALKS ON THE RONDA VERDE (GREEN TRAIL) OF THE BAIX GAIÀ

The geography of this area of the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast) makes it perfect for short and medium-distance walks. In Roda de Berà you can establish the beginning and end of the ronda verde, (Green Trail), the circular circuit of perfectly marked roads connecting 11 municipalities of the Baix Gaià. These green trails have common links with the river and invite to a relaxed family walk among the water, orchards of fruit trees, beaches and wooded landscapes.

From Roda, there is a road towards Pobla de Montornès with a certain slope, and a much more flat one towards Creixell which is an old horseshoe road. You choose, towards the coast or inland. Both roads finish uniting in the swamp of El Catllar, about 16 kilometers ahead.

We recommend that you complete the Green Trail in short sections, with the start and finish in each municipality. And beware, if you make the round that runs parallel to the Gaià: take some repellent with you, because you know that it is always better to prevent and thus the journey will be a success!
