Wineries and Wine Routes CONCA DE BARBERÀ D.O.

Agrícola de la Conca i Secció de Crèdit

The wine cellar of the L'Espluga de Francolí cooperative was designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, but the building was built by his son Pere Domènech i Roure in 1913. The Catalan writer christened the building "La Catedral del Vino" (Wine Cathedral); this name was later applied to other Art Nouveau Catalan wine cellars. Inside today is the Wine Museum: the underground floor shows the history, the cultivation and the traditional winemaking; the second floor explains the modern winemaking and the third floor presents the building as an Art Nouveau work. This winery produces Conca de Barberà wines. Visits in Catalan, Spanish, English and French. Maximum 45 people per group. For visits of more than 20 people or visits in English and/or French, it is necessary to book in advance. The visit includes three films. The museum has a shop where you can buy wine, cava, olive oil and nuts.
