VIMBODÍ I POBLET

They say Rojals is the highest village in Costa Daurada. When you get there, fresh air caresses your skin, as it is located in the northeast end of Muntanyes de Prades, surrounded by spectacular woods and tracks that will melt your heart; the perfect place to live nature at its purest.

Rojals is actually part of Montblanc and its heart does also beat in this town’s old town. Right in the Carrer Major, find Església de Sant Miquel. On the inside, a unique polychromatic coffered ceiling, which shows mystical figures and some of the shields from the most powerful families during the Middle Ages. Have you ever seen them?

You can also discover Montblanc through their sweet creations. In Carrer Major, buy the famous Merlets, a typical dessert named after “merlets” or “rastrell”, literally tooth-like merlons that crown medieval walls. From the so-called Torre de Sant Francesc, you can walk along this unique fortification and admire Montblanc from a bird’s eye view. It really is a true jewel, would you agree?

From “La Serra” you’ll witness Montblanc’s natural surroundings, a true green lung that reaches what’s known as Bosc de Poblet: holm oaks, vineyards and pine trees; a true paradise for fauna in Conca de Barberà. This also works as a sort of protection for the jewel in the crown: the Reial Monestir de Poblet, World Heritage Site and a unique monumental ensemble. Our suggestion for the perfect ending will take you to Vimbodí i Poblet. Vimbodí is a lovely village that keeps a handcrafted tradition: artisanal glass production. We’re pretty sure you’ll be amazed by the Museu del Vidre.
