THE LEGEND OF SANT JORDI REVIVES IN MONTBLANC
The story of Joan Amades places the famous legend of Sant Jordi the capital of the Conca de Barberà region.
The noble knight could have killed the dragon at the gates of this beautiful walled city and perhaps that is why Sant Jordi gives his name to one of the four portals of the town. With this background it is not surprising that a passionate and multitudinous group of Montblanc neighbors celebrate each year the Medieval Week of the legend of Sant Jordi, among thousands of visitors from all over.
As a central act of the festival a very careful representation of the legend is celebrated. It is performed with such fidelity that you must pinch yourself to confirm that you are not in a dream. The royal court presides over the feast, while the town dances medieval dances and the nobiliary houses present the spectacular flag dance. Surely you have time to sign up to do some of the roles of the representation: the organizers welcome volunteer actors. It is never too late to learn how to handle the rhythms of the 15th century on the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast)!
