The convent of Bellpuig, the monasteries of Poblet, Santes Creus, or Vallbona de les Monges converted into a musical stage of exception. Can you imagine? The program usually mixes several musical styles: jazz, pop, gospel or classical music. The experience of the Cistercian concerts - they are every Saturday night - is also suitable for children and if they are under 7 years old, admission is free. RECONSIDERING LIFE IN A MONSTAREY

The concerts we propose you in this TripIdea can be a good excuse to visit some of the great monasteries where they take place. For example, the one of Poblet, one of the most spectacular, built in the 12th century to promote the repopulation of the area after the expulsion of the muslims.

It is the largest inhabited Cistercian settlement in Europe, declared a World Heritage Site by the Unesco in 1991. It can be visited for free or with guide and at night, at 20.30h, you can join silently to the prayer of the monks of the monastery. In the hostelry in Poblet, men can eat and sleep in cells for visitors.

VIMBODÍ, THE SMALL GLASS VILLAGE

Near the Monastery of Poblet, is the small village Vimbodí. During the 20^th century the population lived a real boom of the glass industry of the Costa Daurada (Golden Coast). Several ovens were installed and glassmakers from all over the country came to do the trade. Of all of this today only remains the memory and the testimony of the Museu del Vidre de Vimbodí (Glass Museum). You can admire the interesting technique of blown glass by specialists who do it live. If you feel like it, you can also practice it in workshops organized for all ages. Shows are done on weekends or on bookedtours. Bring a glass bottle home and give it a try!
