Salou recreates, coinciding with the festivity of the Mare de Déu del Carme, the ancient art of fishing "Tirar l'Art", which was used by the ancient fishermen of the area.
Don't miss the procession in honour of the Virgen del Carmen: fishermen and sailors ceremoniously walk the Virgen del Carmen through the Mediterranean waters, and embark on it in the Serrallo neighbourhood.
Every 15th July the town of Torredembarra holds a festival in honour of Santa Rosalia, its patron saint. The legend tells us that the painting of the saint saved the population from the plague in 1640. In gratitude the painting is brought in procession to the town centre.
