CULTURAL ATTRACTIONS MUSEUMS, INTERPRETATION CENTRES AND OBSERVATORIES

The first glass kiln in the municipality of Vimbodí and Poblet dates from 1188, when the glassmaker Guillem was helping to build the monastery of Poblet. However, it was not until the beginning of the 20th century that glass manufacture became the town’s most important industry for nearly half a century. Today the museum wishes to recognise the importance of that now almost extinct industry by demonstrating the operation of the old glass kiln and with an exhibition of historical and modern pieces. The museum organises specialist workshops and courses and also has a gift shop.
