VALLS, experience the authentic Calçotada

Do you know who the Xat of Benaiges was? This peasant lived in Valls in the late nineteenth century, and is considered "the inventor" of calcots. Come and we will guide you throuth the streets and squares where this mysterious character walked. We will explain curious stories, and the true technique to make a common onion transform into an authentic Valls calçot. A story that begins in the nineteenth century and reaches with force to our day.

- Guided tour of the old quarter of Valls, and the more traditional squares of Valls.

- Visit to the Noucentist  Ball Room of the Agricultural Society of Valls.

- Complimentary final tasting in the old wine vats of the Agricultural Cooperative: Xat de Benaiges wine glass, bread sticks & Calçot Sauce. (Included in the price)

Itinerary:  Portal Nou Square – Església Square – Blat Square- Oli Square – Escudelles Square – Carme Square - Ball Room of the Agricultural Society – Final tasting in the Agrobotiga.

Days: From Thurday to Sunday, both included from 15th January to 12 April,

Valls 1888, the 1st Agricultural Society of Catalonia is born

Do you know how the peasantry and bourgeoisie lived in Valls at the end of the 19th century? The Catalan bourgeoisie shows a taste for the arts and culture and the new cities see modernist and Noucentist buildings emerge. While the peasantry and the labor movement set the pace for the new century: in Valls the 1st Agricultural Society of Catalonia was born. It follows the imprint of the architect Vives-Castellet, collaborator of the Commonwealth of Catalonia, in an era as creative as convulsive. Enjoy the effervescence of the market, and come back to the present tasting products of proximity in the old wine vats of the Agricultural Society of Valls. Camins Km0 will discover  this exciting piece from our recent history.

Experience the most eco-friendly tourism

We offer you an ecotourism experience suitable for all audiences, whether you are a lover of outdoor walks, history, wine tourism, local products, natural environment, the outings with friends and family... Or all at once! We will explain the stories of the picturesque village of Bellavista, and from there, walking among Mediterranean crops we will delve into the past of the peasantry of the region: vineyard, phylloxera, declared stills and clandestines. The agricultural landscape hides more than is intuited at first glance... we'll reveal the secret hidden from the water towers. We will arrive at Dasca-Vives winery, a family project that bets on organic and biodynamic agriculture, totally respectful of the environment and sustainable, with recovery of native varieties, where they produce very special and top quality wines. And for the little ones: organic must!

Rabassats an Iberian farm in the III century BC

Do you want to know who were the first settlers of the Alt Camp? Would you imagine how it was life on an Iberian farm in the s.III B.C.? Come and we will explain the secrets that hide the stones! We will leave Nulles and walk around the Iberian site of Rabassats. From there, we will reach the old village of Casafort, surrounded by vineyards, Mediterranean crop of the Alt Camp for two thousand years. In Casafort, the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings invite you to rest; and we'll do it in the Mediterranian way: tasting local products in a traditional Catalan era ,(terrace) with the personal touch of Camins km0. We'll finish the tour by going back to Nulles.
