Platja Llarga
Platja Llarga (Long Beach) in Salou, the tourism capital of the Costa Daurada, at 646 metres is the longest beach in the Cap Salou area, although not in the resort as a whole. Its fine, golden sands slope gently into the calm, crystalline waters of the Mediterranean, making it ideal for families with children.
Llarga Beach is a quiet paradise, with a protected natural dune where the sand meets a wood of pine trees in a marvellous combination of sea and countryside. The beach can be reached from the coastal footpath and offers spectacular views to visitors and bathers.
The beach also offers various leisure and water sports activities, including ski-bus (banana), oxon (a kind of floating donut with a parasol), leisure craft, parasailing, jet skis, pedalos, and an offshore floating platform. It is also on the itinerary of two waterways for practicing the triathlon discipline of open water swimming between Capellans Beach and Cala de la Font.
The beach itself offers numerous services for visitors, such as a children's play area, calisthenics equipment, beach bars-restaurants and lifeguards. It has the ISO 14001 standard certificate that accredits its excellent environmental and health quality.
