Beaches and Coves Beaches

Els Capellans Beach (also known as Cala Romana) in Tarragona is a small cove about 60 metre wides with fine golden sand very close to the N-340 main road and about three kilometres from the city centre. It can be accessed on foot via the spectacular coastal footpath, by public transport and by car. There is a car parking area.

Els Capellans, along with Cala Fonda, Roca Plana, Platja Llarga and Cala Jovera beaches, has been recognised with the Tarragona coast Unspoilt Beaches Award. This distinction highlights the natural and unaltered values that some beaches on our coastline maintain and is promoted by the Tarragona Ecologist Group and the Ebre d'Ecologistes en Acció of Catalonia (GETE-EeAC).

In terms of facilities, Els Capellans Beach has showers, footbaths, lifeguard and first aid services.
