Beaches and Coves Beaches
Platja de Llevant
The Llevant (East) Beach in Salou, the tourism capital of the Costa Daurada, is the largest natural beach in the resort, with a length of one kilometre two hundred metres. Its fine golden sands slope gently into the calm, crystalline waters of the Mediterranean, making it ideal for families with children.
The beach runs parallel to the Jaume I Promenade, a wide, beautifully landscaped boulevard with magnificent pam trees and luxuriant plants and gardens. It is ideal for leisurely strolls, cycling, enjoying the beach and contemplating the Mediterranean Sea at any time of the year. It is also on the route of the Salou coastal footpath (camí de ronda).
The Llevant Beach offers facilities for various leisure and water sports activities, including windsurfing, parasailing, water skiing, kayaking, oxon (a kind of floating donut with a parasol), pedalos and an offshore floating platform, as well as football and volleyball pitches. A calendar of environmental activities is also organised on the beach.
Like most of Salou’s beaches, Platja de Llevant has numerous services for visitors, including access for people with reduced mobility with a ramp down to the water, lifeguard and first aid posts, a children's play area, and several beach bars and restaurants. It has the Blue Flag, the ISO 14001, the Q for Beach Quality and the Safe Tourism Certified certifications, which accredit its excellent health, environmental and tourist quality.
