Beaches and Coves Beaches

Cala Jovera

Cala Jovera in Tarragona is one of the most iconic unspoilt coves on the Costa Daurada and the entire Catalan coast. Located at the foot of a small rocky promontory, from which Tamarit Castle, a 10th-12th century Romanesque edifice, rises majestically. Also known as Cala del Castell (Castle Cove), it is surrounded by native vegetation, mainly pine woods, with a narrow opening to the sea.

Some 90 metres long, Cala Jovera can be reached via the Tamarit Castle footpath. It is a small natural beach with fine, golden sands that slope gently into warm, calm, crystalline waters. Along with Arboçar (Cala Fonda), Becs (Roca Plana), Els Capellans and Llarga beaches, it has received Tarragona’s Unspoilt Beach Award.

Cala Jovera has no facilities or services.
