Beaches and Coves Beaches

Cala de la Penya Tallada

Cala de la Penya Tallada (Carved Rock Cove) in Salou, the tourism capital of the Costa Daurada, is a small but exuberant beach some 47 metres long. It is located between Punta Roja and a rock wall known as Penya Tallada (Carved Rock) that juts out into the sea. Surrounded by pine trees and native vegetation, Penya Tallada Cove is has extraordinary natural beauty, fine, golden sand and calm, crystal clear waters.

The cove is accessed on foot via the street that bears the same name or along Salou’s coastal footpath (camí de ronda). Cala Penya Tallada is a very quiet and much appreciated beach, although its size and accessibility mean it does not have any services. The Penya Tallada rock wall separates this cove from an even smaller one, Cala de las Mabres.

Cala de la Penya Tallada has the ISO 14001 standard certificate that accredits its excellent environmental and health quality.
