Alt Camp has almost 50,000 inhabitants and its economy is based on dry farming with fruit trees, olive trees, vineyards, cereals and carob trees; livestock farming, industry such as metallurgy, construction, textiles, food and wood.

Now that we have already put it into context, it is essential to start talking about the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus. Located in the municipality of Aiguamúrcia, it is one of the three monasteries of the Cistercian Route, along with the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Pobletel and the Monastery of Santa Maria de Vallbona de les Monges, the latter located in the province of Lleida.

The Monastery of Santes Creus, founded in 1160, was the centre of one of the most extensive and influential monastic lordships of the Crown of Aragon. Characterised by its strong and simple architecture, it is an example of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. It is practically obligatory to make a stop in the village and visit this construction. Incidentally, the kings Pedro III of Aragon, Jaime II the Just and his wife Blanche of Anjou, were the patrons of the monastery and chose to be buried here. To this day, they are the only kings of the Crown of Aragon whose remains have remained intact.

Vineyards have a unique and special charm, but what could be more unique than visiting them in a horse-drawn carriage? We recommend that you relax among the vineyards and discover where the Visendra winery was born, and its surroundings, Les Pobles. You will also have the opportunity to do a wine tasting in a natural setting and enjoy a delicious breakfast next to one of the dry-stone huts on the estate. If you are not into horse riding and you are looking for a similar plan, you can go for a walk, do a wine tasting and have breakfast surrounded by nature and vineyards, without forgetting a guided tour through the winery.

Following the route, we arrive at Rodonyà, where the Estol Verd winery is located. Among so much history, it's a good idea to have some activities to do with the little ones, so here’s one full of mystery and adventure. If you like hiking, you must not miss the Sumoll route, where you can find the treasure of the Bandolero (bandit). This wine tourism activity consists of looking for some bottles of wine hidden along this route, and tasting the wine in the same place where it is found. To follow the route and find the bottles you will use a mobile app. Another activity is the Xarel-lo route and the secret of the farmhouse, which works in the same way; the only thing that will vary will be the route. Get ready to enjoy a different adventure with your family, a landscape surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and a fantastic day.

A little more than five minutes from Rodonyà, another stop not to be missed is the Montserrat Sanctuary in Montferri. This work was designed by the architect Josep Maria Jujol, disciple of Gaudí. It was in 1925 when construction started, but it took 73 years to complete and was stopped for decades because of the Civil War and the destruction that the latter caused.

Its main characteristic is its resemblance to the mountains of Montserrat. The structure is of modernist aesthetics and is located on top of a hill. It has a polygonal plan, formed by different triangles, and a central 27-metre arrow surrounded by domes of different sizes and shapes that surround the silhouette of Montserrat.
