Beaches and Coves Beaches
Platja dels Capellans
Platja dels Capellans (Chaplains’ Beach) in Salou, the tourism capital of the Costa Daurada, is a small urban beach some 210 metres long. Its fine, golden sands slope gently into the calm, crystalline waters of the Mediterranean, making it ideal for families with children and people with reduced mobility.
Bordered by a promenade and protected by natural cliffs on both sides, Platja dels Capellans also has a small pine wood. Nearby a small monument reminds us that the fleet under King Jaume I set sail from here on its mission to conquer Mallorca. The beach can be reached by walking along Salou’s coastal footpath (camí de ronda).
From Capellans Beach you can enjoy different nautical and leisure activities, including a ski-bus (banana), pedalos, pleasure craft and rowing boats. The beach is also along an open sea route that connects it with Llarga Beach and is ideal for practicing the triathlon discipline of open water swimming.
Els Capellans Beach offers numerous services for visitors, including accessibility for people with functional diversity and a ramp down to the water’s edge, lifeguard posts, a children's play area, a beach bar and restaurants. Its excellent health and environmental quality is certified by the Blue Flag and ISO 14001 standard.
