Spectacularism, excitement, passion, values... The Concurs de Castells, the 'Castells World Championship' that is held every 2 years in the capital of Costa Daurada is all this and much more! The 3 events of the Concurs ─held in Torredembarra and the Tarraco Arena in Tarragona─ draw the attention of both locals and foreigners, who come from different countries so that they don't miss this incredible event due on the first Sunday of October on even years. And the final result simply wows everyone!

Colla Vella Concurs

Over 12.000 people pack the Tarraco Arena during the 2 days of competition to witness, live and immortalize the greatest castells show in the world. Did you know the Concurs de Castells brings over 400 journalists from 15 different countries?

The celebration of Concurs de Castells is a great opportunity to discover cultural, scenic and oenogastronomy attractions of Costa Daurada, among others, due to the great appeal of such an important event.

Museu Casteller @Món Casteller

Out of the 42 ‘colles’ that took part from Catalonia, 11 are set in Costa Daurada, which is the actual origin of this 200-year-old tradition, declared World Intangible Heritage of Humanity and that, during the entire season ─from June to the end of October─ offers a great number of performances, almost every weekend. In June, due to the Sant Joan festivity in Valls, origin of castells and home of the Museu Casteller de Catalunya; in August and September, due to Sant Magí and Santa Tecla in Tarragona; and, in October, due to Santa Teresa in El Vendrell and Santa Úrsula in Valls, as the most important ones.
