Wine Tourism

Love and soil is always equal to wine

Federico Fellini used to say "A good wine is like a good movie: it lasts an instant and leaves a taste of glory in your mouth; it is new in every sip and, as with movies, it is born and reborn in every one tasting it."

With 7 Wine Denominations of Origin, and a good part of its territories included in the Cava (Sparkling Wine) Denomination of Origin cava, la Costa Daurada(Golden Coast) has an outstanding variety of vineyards landscapes. From the vineyards on the banks of the Priorat and the Sierra del Montsant mountains, to the plains of the Camp de Tarragona and the Penedès… The more wavy landscapes of the Conca de Barberà make up a puzzle of varieties, which once worked with the legacy of an ancient wisdom, give unique, internationally recognized results.

If you want to know the DNA of the wine culture in this land, you must delve into the Wine Cathedrals, a name that the writer Àngel Guimerà coined to refer to these majestic buildings, full of light and artistic precision. The architect Cèsar Martinell constructed 13 temples of modernist style destined to become warehouses or agricultural cooperatives. The winery of the Agricultural Cooperative of Rocafort de Queralt was the first winery designed and built by Martinell, to which the ones in Barberà de la Conca or Montblanc have been added, together with the one in Espluga de Francolí, designed by Puig i Cadafalch.
